For quite a long time we have been happily working away with an older 2017 version of the Unity engine but recently have been noticing that various plugins and features haven't really been fully supported for us and the number of work arounds was increasing so we decided to do a bit of testing across a variety of device and operating system combinations to see if there was any merit to an upgrade.

Mostly the old engine held up really well, I was quite impressed, however I did find that particularly on Linux and Android there were some issues with particular setups so went ahead and put some time in to upgrading the project to a more current version of Unity.

The procedure was fairly straight forward but did require a bit a tweaking for each of the target platforms, however the result was great.  I feel like the game is overall more stable across the board and integrates much more nicely with more current versions of operating systems, so if you were having any kind of problems I would recommend trying out the latest 2-1-1 builds.
